What is VTest Diagnostic?
VTest Diagnostic is a short, stress-free online exam (15–45 minutes) that measures Listening and Reading skills across the full CEFR scale (Pre-A1 → C2).
Reliable snapshot:
shows students’ current level at the start of the year — not last year’s results or expectations.
Positive approach:
no one “fails”— results highlight strengths and areas to improve.
Stage-adaptive:
questions adjust to performance, giving an accurate estimate.

provides a clear baseline for teaching and class organisation.
Who is it for?
- Designed for students aged 11 and up, through the end of secondary school.
- Covers the full CEFR scale, making it suitable for a wide range of learners and levels.

Your classes overview
Teachers access a report on the Burlington platform and can see a class-level overview and each student’s performance.

How it works
Step 1 – Students enter the code printed in their Burlington Student’s Book to access the Burlington platform.
Step 2 – Teachers receive a Class Code from their local Burlington office.
Step 3 – Students enter the Class Code which is provided by their teacher.
Step 4 – Teachers decide when in the school year to release VTest Diagnostic to their class.
- Students take the exam online (desktop, laptop or tablet, with headphones).
- Students take VTest Diagnostic at school or at home.
Reports & feedback
After the test, teachers receive clear, actionable results:
- Student Report: CEFR level with strengths and areas to improve.
- Class Overview: visual summary showing students on track, above, or needing support.
- Designed for teaching: guides placement and planning, not a judgement of effort or potential.
