Set in a futuristic society, we are transported to Waknuk, a place with strict rules, where it's a crime to be "different". Mutant animals and humans are destroyed or banished to a terrible area called 'the Fringes'. David and his sister Petra are 'different' because they are telepathic. They must leave Waknuk before their secret is discovered. But the authorities are close on their tail. For how long can they run?
