Cross-curricular focus:

 History

Imagine being ship-wrecked on a deserted island, without a soul to talk to, for years and years. That is the fate of Robinson Crusoe in the fascinating story by Daniel Defoe. Befriended by his dog, Samson, and a colourful talking parrot called Pol, Robinson must survive the loneliness and hardships of island life. He must find food and fresh water, build a warm and secure house and protect himself from wild animals. Then, one day he discovers footprints in the sand, and human bones by a dying fire ... are there cannibals on the island?
